Community Colleges play a vital role in driving regional economic growth by connecting workforce development with economic progress. They provide accessible routes to postsecondary education, linking secondary and higher education systems. Additionally, they offer non-traditional educational options for those entering the workforce and provide adult learners with educational opportunities, shaping the community towards success, promising careers, and a thriving future.

Community colleges create opportunities for everyone.

Why Community College?

  • Affordability: The average cost of attending a community college is a fraction of a traditional university. This translates to reduced student debt, a lighter burden on families, and the opportunity to pursue higher education without financial constraints.

  • Academic Powerhouse: Community colleges offer rigorous academic programs, preparing students for successful transfer to universities or directly entering the workforce with in-demand skills. Community colleges equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to thrive.

  • Equity in Action: Community colleges are champions of inclusivity. They provide open doors to students from diverse backgrounds, offering adult education programs, specialized courses for working professionals, and vital support services to ensure everyone has a fair shot at achieving their academic goals.

GCC stands tall as a testament to this mission.

Guam Community College is a leader in career and technical workforce development, providing the highest quality, student-centered education and job training for Micronesia.

We offer a diverse range of programs, from healthcare and technology to business and liberal arts, catering to the specific needs of our community. Our dedicated faculty, staff and administrators provide personalized attention, ensuring each student receives the guidance they deserve. A thriving community college plays a pivotal role in fostering a thriving island.

Community colleges flourish with public support, which allows us to:

  • Maintain affordable tuition fees
  • Offer essential student support services
  • Address the needs of underserved parts of the island community.

So, let's celebrate the power of community colleges! They are launchpads propelling individuals towards fulfilling careers and a brighter tomorrow. Let’s unite in upholding community colleges as they are the guiding light of opportunity for many. By supporting community colleges, we invest in the future of our workforce and island community.

In April, we recognize and celebrate community colleges nationwide, including GCC! We encourage all members of our campus community to embrace the CC spirit and demonstrate your support by utilizing the #CCMonth logo.
