GCC Ship Repair Transportation Boot Camp

The Guam Community College in partnership with the Cabras Marine Corporation will be conducting a 12 week Ship Repair Transportation Boot Camp, which involves 23 participants who will undergo various trainings all leading up to securing an apprenticeship with the Cabras Marine as professional ship repairers.

The Guam chapter of the American Culinary Federation honored last night, at its monthly membership meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the 2019 graduates of Guam Community College A.A. Culinary Arts program who have earned the Certified Culinarian designation from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation.

GCC Future Builders of Guam- Construction Boot Camp

The Future Builders of Guam - Construction Boot Camp started on May 20, 2019 and students have been engaged in trainings focus on carpentry, welding, electrical, basic blue print reading, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). Participants will be eligible to earn nationally recognized certifications in the areas listed and be able to earn a National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC), OSHA-10 Certificate, and CPR/Basic First Aid.

The core purpose for the Sustainable Technologies and Environmental Education Program (STEEP) is to equip students with an understanding of the general principles of Island Sustainability, Energy, Renewable Energy; Sustainable and Alternative Eco-Friendly Projects. Students will be able to connect and understand human impacts with Global Environmental Issues and Climate Change. Students will engage in informal education through lectures, media and hands-on activities that will further enhance their appreciation for the natural environment and for sustainable technologies. Basic skills for assembling, installing, and creating a solar pergola structure will be taught.  In addition, students will learn about the basics of robotics, drones, and how to use pre-architecture software.

The core purpose for the Sustainable Technologies and Environmental Education Program (STEEP) is to equip students with an understanding of the general principles of Island Sustainability, Energy, Renewable Energy; Sustainable and Alternative Eco-Friendly Projects. Students will be able to connect and understand human impacts with Global Environmental Issues and Climate Change. Students will engage in informal education through lectures, media and hands-on activities that will further enhance their appreciation for the natural environment and for sustainable technologies. Basic skills for assembling, installing, and creating a solar pergola structure will be taught.  In addition, students will learn about the basics of robotics, drones, and how to use pre-architecture software.

GCC Culinary Students Get Certified

Location: Hyatt Regency, Guam



The Guam chapter of the American Culinary Federation honored last night,  at  its monthly membership meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hotel,  the 2019 graduates of Guam Community College A.A. Culinary Arts program who have earned the Certified Culinarian designation from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation. Pictured from left to right are Chef-instructor Paul Kerner, Niel Cura, Mary Oliveros, Celine Lujan-Cruz, Alfred Bantugan, Zandra Rupido, Joseph Apelo, Maria Delfin, Ruby Verango, Lander Mutuc, and Arjay Ditarte and ACFGu Secretary Karen Quitugua.  Not shown are David and Ryan Acree, Ashley Cardenas, Jamie Cezar, Reen Cosca, Arjonel De Chavez, Judy Ann Fernandez, Catherine Lagman, Ace Macalintal, Gion-Franco Slater, Kalvin Vitug.
