GCC to Recognize Distinguished Graduates in Ceremony
 
MANGILAO – Guam Community College will hold its Distinguished Graduates Ceremony on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Please join us for this memorable event at 10 a.m. at the campus Multi-Purpose Auditorium (Building 400). The Most Distinguished and Distinguished awards recognize the top two students who are graduating within the academic year.
 
The awardees for Academic Year 2022 are:
Most Distinguished Graduate Allyson L. Seibert, Associate of Science in Office Technology.
Distinguished Graduate Tamika Marie U. Ballesta, Associates of Science in Human Services and a Certificate in Family Services.
 
Most Distinguished and Distinguished graduates are chosen based on eight criteria:
§  Students must be enrolled in the current academic year of graduation
§  Students must have completed a minimum of 75% of their required credits at GCC
§  The Most Distinguished Graduate will be the students with the highest grade point average in the graduating class
§  The Distinguished Graduate will be the students with the second-highest grade point average of the graduating class
§  Students with multiple degrees can only earn the honor of Most Distinguished and Distinguished Graduate once.
 
In the case of multiple qualified candidates, the Most Distinguished and Distinguished Graduates will have met one or more of the following:
§  Students are on track to complete their program within the time frame (4 semesters for AA/AS, 2 semesters for Certificate, etc.)
§  Student with the higher degree type
§  Student completed all courses at GCC or additionally with DCAPS
