MANGILAO - Two professors from the Guam Community College (GCC) are invited as panelists in an upcoming webinar called, Regenerative Tourism. Other panelists include members of the NaHHA (Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association), HTA (Hawai`i Tourism Authority), Shanghai Normal University, KauCC, and Maui College students. Invitations to attend the webinar were sent to students, administrators, and faculty from Guam, Hawaii, and China.
“This is a great opportunity for our island communities to share what each island does to support sustainable and community-based tourism” According to Carol Cruz, Assistant Professor, and Department Chairperson, GCC Hospitality and Tourism Department
The event starts at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 31, 2022 (CHST - Guam time) via Zoom for registered participants.
From last year’s webinar, Regenerative Tourism means the idea that tourism leaves a place better than it was before. It benefits the destination communities because it helps diverse groups of people start changing their perspectives and it helps them understand and appreciate the destination, their resources, and the host community’s well-being.
