Distance Learning Work Stations (Allied Health and Parking)

Distance Learning Work Stations (Allied Health and Parking)

Hafa adai current GCC students,

Consistent with the Governor’s Executive Order 2020-36, and DPHSS Guidance memos 2020-40 and 2020-4, which provide guidance on distance learning services, beginning on Monday, November 16, 2020, GCC is offering workstations to provide on-campus connectivity for you to complete your GCC-related work, using the campus Wi-Fi.  Please bring your own personal devices.

You may make an appointment by contacting Student Support Services at 735-5555 or studentsupportservices@guamcc.edu. Your reservation will provide you with access to a desk outside of the 3000 (Allied Health) Building, and a nearby charging station for your laptop computer.  Please ensure your current GCC student ID is visible at all times while occupying your designated work station.  Work stations will be available during GCC’s 8:00am – 5:00pm hours of operation.

When you arrive for your scheduled time, simply report to the Student Support Services office in B Building, to sign-in and to be given the number of your desk.  Upon completion of use of desks, please report back to the Student Support Services Office in Building B to sign out before leaving the campus.

Social Distancing
The computer desks will be placed at 6 foot intervals so that you can maintain social distancing. While on campus, you will be required to wear a mask and to maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others. Please do not enter the campus if you are sick, or are under quarantine requirements. Please note that you will not be allowed to roam around the campus. You will be allowed to access the restrooms at the Student Center.

Another Option: Work in your Vehicle
As an alternative, you are welcome to come to GCC and work in your vehicle. You may park on campus during GCC’s 8:00 am – 5:00 pm hours of operation. Should you choose this option, you need to notify Student Support Services via phone or email, providing GCC with your vehicle make and license plate number. Then, when you arrive on campus, you will be required to check-in at Student Support Services and inform them of where you will be parked.  Your current GCC student ID must be displayed and be visible on your dashboard while parked for GCC staff to check on a regular basis.

Identification
While on campus, you are required to have your current GCC student ID visible at all times, on the dashboard of your parked vehicle or if you are working on one of the outside workstations.

These options are only available to current GCC students. Should you have any questions, please contact Student Support Services and 735-5555.
