HL135 Heartsaver's First Aid, CPR, and AED Course
Offered Fall and Spring Semesters and as needed..
First aid and CPR is a course that is always needed in the community and often required in many industries, such as automotive, construction, law enforcement, and service Industries in their normal course of work will encounter the need to provide aid in the form of CPR and first aid.
This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to provide Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with an automated external defibrillator (AED). Student Learning Outcomes.
Upon successful completion of this courses, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate how to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on an adult manikin.
2. Practice effective use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on an adult victim.
3. Administer basic first aid techniques.
Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certification card from the American Heart Association that is valid for two years.
